Bangkok Office was opened in Bangkok in June 2011 as a representative office of Metropolitan Expressway Company Limited to collect various information on the development of highways in Thailand and neighboring countries and to seek opportunities to serve the people through our expressway technologies. We have full knowledge in Planning, Construction, Operation and Maintenance technologies for urban expressways.
2 Our Missions
Bangkok Office, as a base in foreign countries, aims to contribute to the development of infrastructure in Thailand and neighboring countries through technical cooperation and consulting services relating to expressway technologies and to enhance the presence of Metropolitan Expressway Company Ltd. in Thailand and neighboring countries.
3 Our Activities
1) International cooporation
We have signed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on technical cooperation with overseas expressway agencies and other entities. The scope of corporation is not only restricted to technical matters, but also covers CSR, corporate planning and various other fields. In this context, we provide them technical assistance conformed to their particular issues and needs through training programs, seminars, etc.

“Smart Driver” started as a “Tokyo Smart Driver” Campaign from Metropolitan Expressway Company Limited since 2017 under the slogan of “Increase your thoughtfulness, reduce the traffic accidents” then expanded to many provinces in Japan and established as “Japan Smart Driver” in July 2017 organized by NPO. Since the campaign is not to warn but to praise the good driver, this was a very new idea for a safety campaign. There are many activities such as praised patrol car or parade to spread the idea of driving smartly. But now it’s not only in Japan, but we, Metropolitan Expressway Co., Ltd., has introduced this to Thailand Organization and also in Indonesia. We aim to expand this campaign to “ASEAN Smart Driver” in the future.

Based on MOU, we are welcoming and organizing the training program regarding the expressway operations and managements which includes actual site visiting and discussion for the trainees from the foreign organization.
2) Consulting Service
We carry on the service business of giving advice and recommendation, inspection including providing repair and maintenance planning as well as improvement of Traffic Control and Surveillance System of the expressway, Monitoring System, Power Supply System, Terminal Fee Collecting System and every Network Systems installed on the expressway together with its relevant equipment.
We have had MOU with Pt. Astratel Nusantara since 2010, and continue various activities in Indonesia.
We had signed MOU with Projek Lintas Kota Holdings Sdn Bhd (PROLINTAS) on 3 December 2015, with this MOU, we transfer many knowledge related to expressway.
iii) Vietnam (Technical Exchange with NEXCO Central Vietnam Office)
We are building up a relationship having a good cooperation with the neighbor ASEAN countries with the experts of NEXCO, JICA.
